So I have decided to start a blog to make sure I stay on track on all of my goals for my future.
Yes, I said future, not for this year. Because I don't like the stigma of only making resolutions for the new year. I would like to be able to have new goals my whole life.
Saying that, let me tell you why I decided to do this online instead of just keeping it to myself. I have a good friend DB. She created the blog called 204and losing it back in March in order to keep track of her weight loss and other things she comes across during that time. She has become a great inspiration to me. She has come a long way and has done a lot along the way. So because of her I am doing this. Thanks Deebs!
So I am guessing you probably want to know what my goals are. Last year, and for the last couple of years my one and only goal has been to get pregnant and start a family with my wonderful husband. And that goal has cause me a lot of heartache and depression. I have lost 3 babies in the last year and a half. Or should I J and I, because he is in this as well. So instead of "soldiering on" and causing myself more heartache, I have realized that I need to look into focusing on other things. Not saying that I don't want children because I want them badly. But I feel that if I keep pushing myself, my body is going to refuse or I will just keep going into this black hole of mine.
Anyway, enough of that. Onto my current goals.....
1. Losing weight. Yes I know that is always one that people turn to. But it's not so much the losing weight part, but the living a healthier lifestyle. My mother was overweight and she died at age 50 for unknown reasons. I would like to live past that. I love my mother very much, but I have made it a personal goal of mine to never get to where she was physically. She was the best mom ever, but she always felt bad that she looked the way she did, and it was so hard for her to lose weight. Right now I weigh 178lbs. I am 5'8" and that means I am at least 20lbs overweight. So my goal is to lose at least that much. And I would like to tone up too.
2. Read more. When I was a kid I was supposed to read at least one book per week in order to get my allowance. So my plan is to either read or listen to at least one book per week. That makes at least 52 weeks for this year if not more. I have started a list in order to keep track.
3. Go to the ZIN conference in August. Just that, I have been a Zumba instructor for almost 3 years now and have never been to a conference/convention ever! And I really want to go! It costs about $1500 for the whole trip. So I am trying to put together some money to do that. I think it will be a great experience. I could meet a lot of new people and make contacts and connections.
4. Start running. This is also based off of DB's blog. In order to start her weight loss, she started to run. She did the "Couch to 5K" thing and it really seemed to work for her. Now she is a runner and I think that is awesome. Now I used to say that I would never do that. But lately I have had the urge to do this. So tomorrow I am going to get some shoes, and J and I are going to start the program. So excited.
So that is it for now. I know that this seemed pretty long. But I hope you all enjoyed it and look forward to more posts!
