Didn't get a chance to post last night. So I am doing it this morning.
Started my Couch to 5k app last night. Came home and changed and J and I headed out. Now let me tell you at first I was afraid that I wasn't going to be able to go very far. Of course the app is good because it starts you off slow. But I am remembering years ago if I tried to jog even a little, I would get shin splints and a stitch in my side. But that didn't happen this time. And her is why I think that is. When I first started doing Irish dancing (some 5 or so years ago) I would come home with shin splints. But then I was dancing more, and got into doing Zumba. And I think it has helped my legs to not be so bad. I think it has helped my endurance. Another thin I noticed last night was how my body warmed up to jogging. When we first started out, we would hit the jog part, and J would get ahead of me pretty quickly. It didn't upset me. I kind of knew that his long legs and more experience running would make that happen. Ian's I was proud that I didn't try to catch up with him. But what I noticed was in the middle of the run, I started jogging with him and somewhat getting ahead of him. So the warmer my legs got, the better I got at jogging. Now J says as a fencer that his body is good at shorter distances and that he starts out strong and then slows down. And I think I start out slower and then end pretty strong. Needless to say, it made me happy. And I liked that I was soon it with my best friend!
Also, here is a picture of my body starting off. And of the new running shoes I got!

I'm like that too. Takes me a while to get going. Glad you enjoyed your first couch to 5k!
